Thibodaux Playhouse Inc. wrapped up its first show of its 49th season, Bless Me Father on Sunday, October 26th. The Cast and crew would like to thank the Wetlands Park Service, the production staff and most importantly our patrons for your continued support.

Bless Me Father was a complete success, and it was a great start to the season.

Congratulations to Paul Cook who received the Trooper Award for his work on the show and to Earl LeBlanc for winning the Audience Choice Award for his performance as Father Charles!

(IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE)

Arthur LeJeune Jr.: (Father Richard) Arthur is a sophomore Computer Science major at Nicholls State University, and has performed in many local plays involving the Thibodaux Playhouse, Nicholls’ Players, and Sam & Jim Acting Co. The encouragement given to him by his friends, family and fellow actors is what pushes him to go out each night and perform live on stage in front of an audience.

Earl LeBlanc: (Father Charles) Earl is a former member of the Thibodaux Playhouse’s Board of Directors. A native of the Central Lafourche area, LeBlanc has been seen on our stage in many productions over the years. He has been honored with numerous awards for previous roles and was last seen in Rumors. He enjoys portraying comedic roles and is very excited to be involved with this production with such a talented cast and supportive crew. Earl sends his love to his most important fans, his beautiful children: Adam, Julianne and Beth.

Connie LeBouef: (Sister Maria) Connie is a native of Houma, La. She is making her second appearance on stage at the Thibodaux Playhouse, having previously played Kyra Randolph in “Murder Most Fouled Up”, where she received the Trooper Award. She is the proud mother of Brannon and Stacey Lebouef. She enjoys being with good friends, and hopes to continue appearing on stage.

Garrett Hebert: (Tommy) Garrett makes his debut with the Thibodaux Playhouse. Garrett is 13years old and is a 7th grader at St. Joseph Catholic Elementary. He is the son of Lisa Hebert and Craig Hebert.

Katie DeHart: (Mrs. Prout) After performing as the wicked stepmother in Thibodaux High School’s production of “Cinderella’ she knew there was no going back. Not long after graduating she got the role of Ouiser Boudreaux in the Nicholls State production of “Steel Magnolias”. This will be her first role for the Thibodaux Playhouse and has been enjoying every minute of this remarkable experience. Katie credits her life long love of the theatre to her parents who have always been supportive and encouraging her. And for that she is truly grateful.

Heather Keller: (Susan/Assistant Director) Heather has been involved both on and off-stage with Thibodaux Playhouse productions since her first appearance in the 2000 production of “Hello Dolly,” and is beginning her third year serving on the Board of Directors. She was most recently seen as “Cassie Cooper” in Rumors. Heather is a 2004 Graduate of Nicholls State University and holds a BA in Mass Communications. She would like to thank her husband, William, for all of his patience and support on each and every show.

Daphne Hebert: (Mrs. Murphy) Following her debut performance in the January 2008 production of The Bad Seed, (Christine Penmark), Daphne had the pleasure of joining the cast of Rumors (Cookie) in April. She remained involved during the summer months assisting with set construction for the children’s musical, Pocahontas and as a member of the production crew for The Last Five Years; and has recently been elected to the Board of Directors for TPI. She has been nominated for Best Female Lead and Best Supporting Female for her roles in the 2008 productions of The Bad Seed and Rumors. Daphne has been an early childhood teacher for 19 years – 16 of which have been for the Terrebonne School System. She resides in Thibodaux with her daughter Marcel, who shares her mother’s love for the theatre.

Tom Simons: (Bishop Bungy) Tom serves on the Board of Directors of TPI, and has appeared in several productions at the playhouse, most recently as Officer Welch in Rumors and Officer Callahan in Three on a Bench.

Ken Poon: (Officer Stromer) Ken Poon was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is a resident of Thibodaux. He graduated from Nicholls State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication. He has worked with Nicholls State Theatre Director, Dr. Stanley Coleman on a couple of Nicholls Players’ Productions. He has always had an interest in acting since he was a child, but has never had the opportunity to pursue that interest. Ken currently works at Charter Media.

Nick Guillot (Ira)

Paul Cook: (Mr. Prout) Paul is a nice guy who sometimes finishes last, but that doesn’t stop him from continuing to try and make the work a better place. Currently a full-time Public Relations student at Nicholls State University, Paul is also a father of teenage boys and just recently met the love of his life. Theater, it seems, is something that he will always do. It’s a guilty habit…like a whipped cream-topped caramel frappuccino. He most recently appeared in Rivertown Rep’s Arsenic and Old Lace and before that, Thibodaux Playhouse’s Lucky Stiff. Farces are his forte because comedies are contagious. Have a few laughs and you’ll understand why.

Thibodaux Playhouse would like to thank everyone who came out for “Bless Me Father.” We had our first read-through last night, and had to stop several times for our own laughter. It’s a high-energy/slapstick show driven by mistaken identities, miscommunication and variour other flubs. This show will be a real treat for everyone who comes to see it.

There are still two male parts available to be cast.

Ira: Early-Mid 20s (Susan’s Fiance)

Mr. Prout: Early – Mid 20s
